Packing for Edinburgh is a bit like dressing for four seasons and a surprise wind tunnel — all in the same afternoon. ☀️🌧️💨

I’ve lived in the city, visited as a tourist, and learned (the hard way) what you’ll actually use — and what ends up taking space in your suitcase for no reason.

Here’s what you really need:

✅ A waterproof jacket with a hood — not an umbrella (unless you enjoy wrestling it on windy bridges).
​✅ Layers — because yes, you’ll be sweating on the walk up Calton Hill and freezing by lunch.
​✅ Comfy shoes — cobblestones + flimsy soles = regrets.
​✅ Thermal tights or base layers — even in spring. Trust me.
​✅ A bag big enough for layers — you’ll be adding/removing them all day.
